GANSHORN SpiroScout
SpiroScout is a complete laboratory for testing external respiration based on the Ganshorn ultrasonic measurement method. The method provides accurate determination of all spirometry parameters.
SpiroScout is the first device in its class to measure gas flow and density simultaneously, providing information on volume and gas exchange in a single measurement.
High-precision spirometry thanks to direct flow measurement
The sensor is insensitive to humidity, atmospheric pressure, and contamination.
Used with ScoutTubes breathing tube, disposable hygienic mouthpiece
Various options, such as rhinomanometry, capnography, emphysema test, and respiratory analysis
No maintenance required
Simultaneous measurement of gas flow and density
Extremely high accuracy at low flows
Automatic BTPS correction in real time
Ultrasonic spirometry is a rapid measurement method for direct and accurate flow determination.
This flow measurement method, based on the transit time of the ultrasonic pulse (TrueFlow), uses a high resolution of around 1000 measurement points per second, so that no auxiliary flow evaluation parameters (e.g. differential pressure, temperature, etc.) are required.
Inside the ScoutTube, two ultrasonic sensors are arranged diagonally opposite each other, which alternately transmit and receive ultrasonic waves. Without airflow, the transit time of the ultrasonic waves is the same in both directions. Any airflow accelerates the waves in one direction and slows them down in the other. The greater the difference in the transit time of the ultrasonic waves, the higher the flow. All other factors (gas mixture properties, humidity, temperature) are identical for both directions and are mutually neutralized.
1. Simple and quick change of the disposable ScoutTube breathing tube
2. High resolution – 1000 measurement points per second – ensures high measurement accuracy
3. No fluctuation of measurement values due to changes in environmental conditions or humidity of exhaled air
4. No calibration during operation required
5. No measurement errors due to incorrectly calibrated or uncalibrated pneumotachometer
6. Determination of flow and all associated parameters, e.g. volume or resistance, during body plethysmography measurement
