PWA – Pulse Wave Analysis
Using convenient cuff-based measurements during ABPM, pulse wave velocity in the arteries can be assessed. These measurements provide valuable insight into arterial stiffness, as higher pulse wave velocity reflects increased arterial rigidity. Greater arterial stiffness is associated with a higher risk of cardiovascular disease. In addition, the augmentation index serves as an important parameter reflecting the functional age of small blood vessels.
